White Sands!!

So at the beginning of this month (I always seem to be a month behind) we went to White Sands with the Trevor, Monica, Eliot, Vicki and Katie. It was fun to see everyone and we had a great visit.

This was Jaydens favorite thing about White Sands. He would slide all the way to the bottom (it was a long walk back up)!

Cute Jayden

I know that I seem to just post pictures of Jayden, but the reason I started this blog was so the family could keep up with him. So here is Jayden being cute!

Ready for the park!

His dancing continues!!

New Grass

One of our latest projects has been our backyard. Goatheads and weeds are great, but not in the backyard. Jayden loves to play outside, so we decided that grass was an important thing to do this year. It looks great now, I will take a picture soon (these are about 3 weeks old). The boys at work!
Jayden is constantly "fixing" the sprinklers (it's right under his arm).

The finished product! It is much greener now.

Spring is Here!!!!

First, some random pictures, then we'll get to the Spring part :)
Anyone see a problem here????? So we tried to take pictures of ourselves, but this was the best one we got?! At least you can see Jaydens cute outfit!!

Grandpa was here visiting and they went for a walk.

Our latest news is that we laid sod in our backyard so Jayden has somewhere to play (he wasn't getting along too well with the goat heads). Pictures will come later.

The ZOO: 2 weekends ago Steve and Anita were here visiting and we went to the zoo, it was great.

Dallas Trip

For Eddie joe's Spring Break we went to Dallas to visit Matt and Stephanie and Trevor and Monica. We had a lot of fun!!!

We visited Matt and Stephanie first.
We braved the Dallas Aquarium during Dallas Public Schools spring break. It was pouring rain so we got to swim into and out of the aquarium, we had fun. Although we did have to put our clothes in the dryer when we got back to the house. It was interesting to watch the difference between Preston (just over 2 years old) and Jayden (15 months). Jayden would look for a split second and then was ready to move on, where Preston was really interested and wanted to watch the fish and animals.

The boys had a great time playing together, they were in constant motion!

Next we visited Trevor and Monica!

We planned to go to the Dallas Zoo but when we got to the exit there was a police man standing there that told us it was full, once again it was Dallas Public Schools spring break. So we learned not to go to Dallas during their spring break. Instead we went to a historical park (can't remember the exact name). It was very pretty and we were able to tour old houses, see animals and enjoy ourselves.

Looking at the Animals, sheep are stinky!

We also had a picnic at the park , Jayden and Eliot had fun climbing on the rock.

Letter Head!!!

February seems to be rushing by, so before I get too far behind I am going to try to post some picts. and videos. Jayden has been a very busy boy this month!

This picture should explain the name of the posting, Eddie joe came up with it, he is so clever:). Anyways Jayden thinks this is a lot of fun and now does it during every bath.

Jayden's babysitter was trying to teach Jayden the sign for please at the same time that we were teaching him to fold his arms for prayers. He got a little confused and we ended up with this. His please sign is folding his arms, I think it's way cute, but after all I am his mom! He runs up when he wants something and folds his arms, the problem is that sometimes we don't know what he is asking for??

Jayden has started dancing really fast, it's like a running motion and he gets very into it. So I wanted to get it on video but instead he wanted to turn circles, a lot of them. There is no way I could still be standing if I tried this.

This is Jayden with his little friend Jovie, we took them for a walk in our bike trailer/stroller. Unfortunately it wasn't as warm outside as we thought it was and ended up with a very short trip to the park.

Ok, I know that this picture was not turned, but it takes too much time and effort because we have really bad picture software, sorry!

Eddie joe recently got one of my little brothers old video games, but ALWAYs has a helper when playing it.

So last weekend we made it up to the 60's (sorry to my family that is freezing in Idaho). I took the opportunity to clean out the dog run (yuck, who feeds them so much). Anyways Jayden woke up from his nap and wanted to come out and help. He took control of the childrens rake that I did not know we had and worked away, he thought he was such a big boy. He fell a few times and had to have a bath afterwards but it was fun to see him trying to help!

After the yard work Jayden went for a ride around our messy yard on his toy. You might be able to tell that it was an impromptu trip outside by Eddie joe's stylish choice of clothing.

Our Kitchen, Mostly Finished

So our house was and is a real fixer upper. The largest project that we have taken on is our kitchen. People have asked for pictures and so now that it is nearly finished I am going to post them. Eddie joe did most of the work last summer before Jayden was walking. So, with that I am posting the process.

This is the kitchen before we moved in. It does not look too bad, but this is all of the counterspace and once we put the $40.00 stove from Re-store in that took up half of the counter space. And there is no room for a dishwasher.

This is the pantry cabinet, it clearly was not able to take the weight of our food supply. This happened about 3 times before Eddie joe put wooden dowells in to fix the problem.

Here Eddie joe has taken most of the cabinets and the sink out, living with out a kitchen is a bummer, it's easy to forget all of the conveniences that we have until they are gone. Fortunately Eddie joe had the big part of the project done within 3 weeks (He's awsome!).

Once all of the old stuff was out there was some plumming to work on as well as electrical outlets and switches to move.

After all of the electrical work and patching Eddie joe put the new cabinets in. The only thing that Eddie joe did not do was put the countertop in. We had 3 corners so we decided the experts could take care of that.

This is what the kitchen looked like with the new cabinets, coutnertop, and applicances. Notice the floor is still old and we are missing a few things. We did get the walls painted though, I like the color but have been told that some others do not, that's ok, it's my kitchen!

A couple of months go we put the tile in. And then in January Eddie joe put the trip around the top and bottom of our cabinets, we also now have trim around our sliding door and a curtain to cover it. We still need new light fixtures and a vent cover, ow and new dining room furniture :), but those things will come later!

Eddie joe did a great job!!!! I helped where I could in between work and caring for Jayden so Eddie joe could work on the kitchen, but he did most of it.
