Happy 2nd Birthday Jayden

We celebrated Jayden's birthday the day after Christmas this year. It gave him a chance to play with his Christmas toys, and then enjoy yet another round of new toys. We sang happy birthday, ate cake, and opened presents.

Jayden with his 2nd Birthday Cake.

Yum Yum!

Grandpa Byron got him some fake guns, now he can be like dad (we are not allowed to shoot people or other living things). Jayden is excited.

Aunt Amanda got Jayden three Elmo balloons, he REALLY loved these.

Putting both the gun and the balloons to good use. Here he is hunting his balloons.

Aunt Bridget got Jayden some play-doh. He spent about an hour and a half playing play-doh with Aunt Katie and Aunt Amanda. This was one of their creations, I'm not actually sure how they got the mustache to stick on his face.

Thank you all for the gifts, he had a good birthday. I am seriously thinking about celebrating it in June next year, I'll wait and see what he says about it next year.

Christmas Afternoon!

On Christmas afternoon Grandma Vicki, Aunt Amanda, and Aunt Katie came to visit. The first thing we did was eat. Eddie joe and I worked together to cook our first turkey, it turned out well (thanks for the tip on using a bag mom and dad).

I try really hard to take good pictures, but sometimes others have to try too (the camera hog (Jayden) wouldn't even look).

Ahhh, that's better. Jayden was cut out of this one because he refused to cooperate.

Grandma Vicki got Jayden a dump truck, he loves it.

Aunt Amanda had the pleasure of pushing him in it.

Grandma helps Jayden play with his new laptop that Grandpa Tony got him, thanks Grandpa.

This kid is spoiled.

We all spent this rest of the afternoon playing with gifts. Everyone had to try the Wii Fit and then Eddie joe got a turn to try his new games out. We also watched a movie somewhere in there. Thanks for coming guys, we had a great time!

Christmas 2008

We had a great Christmas this year. We stayed home and celebrated as our little family. We missed our families, but we also enjoyed our time together. Eddie joe's mom and sisters came up the Christmas afternoon and stayed for a few days. This post is just Christmas morning, the next one will cover Christmas afternoon and there will also be one for Jayden's birthday.

Santa brought Jayden a desk so that he can study just like daddy does (we are also hoping it will give daddy a little more of a chance to study). Along with the desk Santa brought him colors and paper and other "desk" items.

He had to put all of the colors in the color holder.

He also thought the chair was great, so he had to sit in it while opening his presents. It took us 1.5 hours to open presents because every time Jayden tore off a piece of paper he had to get up and put it in the paper pile. Then he would climb back in his chair. Next, once he got it open he had to actually open the item, it took some coaxing to move him onto the next gift.

He was pretty excited about those markers.

His stocking had some of his favorite "doughnuts" in it. They are actually cookies, but he calls them doughnuts, he was soooo excited. Ow, and the reindeer antlers were also a hit.

Eddie joe got this great hunting jacket from my parents, he wore it around all morning. Along with the slippers I got him and his antlers (isn't he a hunk). I got a Wii Fit from my parents, it has been a lot of fun so far. I was pretty insulted when it blew my Wii character up to my current proportions, but I guess it's time to lay off of anything that tastes good. Thanks mom and dad!

Also thanks to everyone in the family for the cards and gifts. Jayden will make good use of all of the toys, he is very into just playing these days (with us sitting on the floor with him).

Wii Golf Master

Here is a little video of Jayden playing golf on the Wii. He doesn't completely understand what he's supposed to be doing, but he has a blast doing it.

Early Halloween Fun

We were incharge of bringing cupcakes to the ward halloween party. Jayden is helping to put sprinkles on them.

Jayden was the dogs from Blues Clues. He's never seen the show before, but he seemed to enjoy wearing his costume.
Jayden and mommy.

Jayden checking out the loot he scored doing some trunk or treating. He was very excited about the suckers.

They had three little ponies that they were able to ride. I believe this pony's name was cheyenne.

Huh, somehow I managed to make the text of that last post into a link?!?! I would probably be better at this if I spent more time doing it, it's usually just my goal to get the pictures up and move on.

Jayden has recently moved into a phase where he will actually play by himself for a while. It is very nice, despite the fact that he enjoys destructive activities, like taking the cushions off of my couch and using them as a slide.

He is very interested in pumpkins, we went to Target to return something last night and he was AMAZED at all of the pumpkin "stuff". He pointed at anything that was orange and said, "cool, cool". It was so cute, although people kept looking at him funny.

He is still unable to walk around the house, he must ride his bike everywhere. Even into the bathroom to brush his teeth, it is not a large bathroom.

And my quite time is over. Jayden managed to fall over and hit his head on the side of the desk and now he is pulling my arm saying, "out, out, no, out".

So that"s all for now!

Day in the Mountains!

So we had the opportunity in early September to go up to the mountains with friends and family to repel, play with airsoft guns and pic-nic. Grandma Vicki and Aunt Katie happened to be in town this weekend so they were able to come with us. Troy and Yanni are friends of ours and they have lots of family, they are all fun and kind enough to let us hang out with them.
